Have you ever wanted to act, sing, make costumes and sets? We will do it all in this active week of making a play from a folktale, presenting to our parents on the final day.

They are there hiding behind a flower, of near the root of a tree, and we will create homes in the woods for these shy creatures. A Flower Fairy and a Gnome will be sewed so that everyone can take home their very own.

Toki Oshima grew up in a family that sang together, and she and all of her brothers were artists. As a teen, Toki worked as a camp counselor in an International summer camp where the emphasis was on peace through understanding others through singing, dancing, and making things. Her first job in Alaska during her 20s was at a summer camp for inner city children in Fairbanks. She received her BFA from Portland School of Art, where she taught Saturday School for High School students. She has worked as a free lance illustrator for MOFGA's Newspaper, as well as illustrating children's books and doing graphic design work. She earned her post graduate degree in Education at Sunbridge College, Spring Valley, N.Y., has worked as a teacher and camp instructor at Ashwood Waldorf School, Morning Glory Garden School, and Art & Explore Camp in Freedom. She taught at Playworks, a homeschool cooperative in Liberty this past year, working with children ages 6-10, where she brings her love of traditional American folk music as all kinds of art and crafts to the group.

Toki lives with her husband, John Pranio, and their two sons, Sean and Jamie, in Whitefield, Maine. They are all musicians, and play in several bands, and like to dance, sing and eat good food.
